Opening the Inkscape app can take a few seconds (30 - 50), so I'd prefer to keep the app open until I'm done using it. But when I close all the windows, Inkscape quits entirely. Then I have to relaunch it.
Is there a setting to keep Inkscape open even if no document is opened?
I know this behaviour - but this isn´t longer the case here: saving and closing the last file will prompt a "New document#No" for me. I´m not sure if there´s an explicit setting I just can´t find. This is how it works here:
Don´t close via window button: - this will shut down Inkscape when no other file is open - instead use
cmd+W (Close). That should prompt a new empty file numbered.

When I close all the windows, Inkscape automatically "respawns" a new document, and I can't sand this either. I'm on a Mac.
