I made my pattern, deleted the background and when I try to print the pattern nothing prints. It shows that I am printing and the paper cycles through the printer but there is no print.
I guess it sounds like you're trying to print directly from Inkscape? Are you sure the drawing is inside the page border? Is the page border the same size as the printer page? Larger or smaller?
Ensure your margins are wide enough to handle the pattern, with my printer, even if just a little too big, it won't print (and my printer won't allow for 0, 0 margins). Also, ensure that you've checked the vector file tab (usually under the rendering tab when printing), or choose bitmap if you've exported as a png.

Can you share the file? What is a 'pattern' for you? An actual pattern fill, or a drawing? What is your Inkscape version (see Help > About)?
