I've been beating my head on the table trying to figure out why with any font I've tried comes out as a redacted black bar. If I spread out the spacing enough I can see that it is individual characters but looks like bold is turned onto extreme mode. There seems to be something with document scale here. If I increase the font size to 500 the text is readable but one character takes up a quarter of the default A4 format document.
I started with a vanilla copy of 1.2.1 then uninstalled it and replace with 1.1.2 followed by .9.2.5 all having the same issue. Windows 10 exe installer. I am using all default settings. The only changes I'm aware I've made were to the line thickness if the bezier curves I drew
I can not find anything that looks like the issue I'm having anywhere on the internet. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful. Even simply were I can restore to default button is

I'd check that the stroke is set to none.
