Hello. I'm currently learning a bit of Inkscape while trying to recreate some logos.
At the moment I'm replicating the SEELE logo from NGE, and while I did successfully the outline and the forms, I'm having a little trouble finishing it with colors and such.
1) There's some images of the logo with a rainbow style outline, like this one. I would love to replicate it, but my outline looks pretty messed up, like this. I grouped all of my objects for this, for organization purposes (and because I'm thinking that grouping them, would be like all of the outlines got "together" and the stroke would flow correctly)
2) Strangely, When I just combine all of my objects into one single object, it works. But preferably, I would like to not combine them, as it makes the whole object with a single size for all of its outlines, and while before combining, the triangle and the eyes had the same value for the outline, the middle triangle line didn't, and if it's possible, I'd like to keep it that way.
I know this has something to do with grouping/combining. There's a way around this? I'm probably not understanding the concept of grouping (or combining) correctly.
I´d say it´ll be working when you treat the whole parts (Path->break apart beforehand) as one group. I pre-made a gradient attached it to a dummy object´s stroke - copy - then select the group and do a "paste style":
Draw a white-filled rectangle under your drawing (the dashed blue rectangle in the attachment). Now draw a rectangle filled with your favourite gradient and in the [Fill and Stroke] dialog set [Blend mode: Lighten]. This will colour any underlying black areas with the gradient but will have no effect on white areas because these cannot be lightened any further. You can alternatively set the blend mode for an entire layer to colour all the layers below.
