I made a few separate designs split in two layers - one layer for cutting and another layer for printing within the cutting shape.
Now I need to combine all those separate files into one svg file with one printing layer and one cutting layer for all the pieces. Obviously some of the designs should be moved or rotated to make it as compact as possible.
Is there any tricks that allows me to move/rotate shapes on different layers togeter?
Moving together differents shapes among differents layers is'nt a problem.
If many shapes are selected on canvas, if you want to apply the same rotation to each shape separately and not a rotation of all selected shapes relative to the common rotation center of the selection, use object > transform (Ctrl + Shift + M), tab : rotation and tick "Apply to each object separately".
Hope this helps, maybe there exists a smarter way (I'm curious to know).
You can also batch rotate shapes relative to one unique rotation center :
Select all the shapes you wanna rotate around this point.
Click somewhere on your selected shapes to let appear rotation arrows and center of rotation of the selection.
Click and drag and move the selection's rotation center to where you want it to be. This will set the rotation's center of every selected shape to this point)
Then rotate your shapes relative to this point, using rotation handles.
Then shift-click on the selection's rotation center if you want to reset the rotation center of every shape to the center of their bounding boxes (and the rotation center of the selection returns to its original place).
To link my two posts, I don't know if it exists, but it would be nice to have a shortcut key when rotating selections to force rotation relative the center of rotation of each shape individually.

Hello David
I managed to select the objects from different layers and sort them out as I needed.
Thanks a lot for your help!
Have a great day
