Is it somehow possible to mirror elements in a page, so that, when I make changes to the element "oak tree", the changes will be automatically applied to all other oak trees as well? Thanks!
It sounds like you might be looking for Clones? Select one oak tree, then Edit menu > Clone > Create Clone (or the relevant button or keyboard shortcut). Inkscape will create an exact clone, right on top of the original. Then just move it over, or place it wherever you want it.
One important thing to note. Don't use that clone to create another clone. Instead, you need to reselect the parent object to create a new clone. After you have all the clones created, any change you make to the parent object will happen to all the clones at the same time.
If you have a lot of clones to make, still don't be tempted to create a clone from a clone. Instead, you can use the Tiled Clones dialog. Even though you don't necessarily need to tile them, it's a fast way to create a lot of clones all at once. Then you can move them to wherever you need them.

To add more clones, it is easy enough to duplicate (Ctrl+D) a clone... it will create another clone with the same parent object.
The Spray tool can also easily generate clones.
To create clones and keep the parent object easily available for frequent use, the original can be made into a "Symbol" (Ctrl+Shift+Y).
Dissimilar objects can use the same "Label" (e.g. Oak), set object properties, and can be selected using the Find/Replace tool.
There are also "Selection Sets" , but this process is not fully de-bugged.
