When I open a file created previously, some of the words have the letters as separate objects, as least that would be the way I would describe the issue. Typically if I wanted to change the wording, I would select the word / sentence, and I could change it. The words now can only be selected one at a time. In the past, I have delete words, and start over, and save the file. Later when I open the file, those words now only select individual letters.

1. Describe the source of the file: created with Inkscape, downloaded, imported from another program, etc.
2. Describe the specific steps you took, the result you expected, and the result that actually happened.
3. Describe your OS (your computer's Operating System: Mac/Windows/Linux/etc. & version).
4. Describe if Inkscape was newly installed, or upgraded from an earlier version.
5. Describe the version of Inkscape and the installer you used (the file you downloaded from the website: .msi/.exe/.zip/other ). 
6. Describe any special hardware being used, like tablet/stylus or multiple monitors.
7. Describe any helper/assistive programs or keyboard modifiers (macros, languages, etc.).

Bonus points, if you:

• Attach* a screenshot of the issue.
• Attach* an example SVG file that has the issue.

* Posting links to outside hosts is also permitted, hotlinking (embedding) is not.

1. I created the file in Inkscape.
2. I opened the file, tried to select to word I needed to change, I expected the entire word to be selected, only one letter was selected.
3. I am using Fedora 39 KDE
4. I have had Inkscape installed for some time.
5. Inkscape v1.3.2, installed a flatpak.
6. I am not using any special hardware.
7. No helpers, or keyboard modifiers.
