I'm not sure thats even good title. so i have a home co2 laser (its fun) I use inkscape to prep files in
I D/L a premade file and rescale it to fit sheet size and it seems the little boxes and tabs become wrong for material thickness ( I have found this in couple files) I want 3mm slot file is saying 2.5mm
now I have heard this could be something with file import I have had it with dxf and cdr files
if there is no simple way then a suggestion on manually adjusting this so called tab boxes and such some are on angles so its not just a simple resize
i'm hoping i explained it well enough I know I'm not the only one with this issue
here are 2 files a dxf and a cdr both have same kinda issue I'm just not sure of fix Do I need to redraw these I don"t seem to find a copy/replace method to make simple
The Corel file will need to be scaled up x1.3333, as Corel files are often 72dpi and Inkscape is 96 dpi.
The DXF file is hard for me to know. DXF is often regarded as a unitless file format, and if there is unit data, Inkscape might not read it. If there is a known distance in the design, a scale transform can be applied.
For what it's worth when importing the dxf into Inkscape and using 1 as the scale factor, the dxf measurements match what I see in another program (SheetCam).

so this is pretty common and the answer is to scale the whole drawing until I get the size required for my material
