Beginners' Questions Issue with Division of geometric shapes (shape builder)

Hi everyone. I am working on designing another random logo. I have a ton of rectangle shapes and circular shapes. As an alternative to shape builder, I select all of my shapes and Combine them. From there, I will add a rectangle that encases the shapes, lower it to the bottom, and then divide it with my group of combined shapes.

    I have two issues:

    1. The circular shapes are not divided correctly despite obviously intersecting with the rectangle's path

    2. Circular shapes are distorted upon dividing

While there´s no real ShapeBuilder tool in Inkscape the Division trick is kinda hack and the question is if 4 nodes per Circle are enough and the snapping has done right. I had no luck to align the circle perpendicular to the sheared rectangles (snapping is enabled in Doc-prefs though) and need to check in outline view mode.

This is as close I can get it. If it´s still not working you might need to overshoot the circles with the other shapes to brut force a cut. Fingers crossed.

yeah i figured overshooting was the only way. and if you want to get the circle quadrants to be exactly on the line, you have to rotate the circle once, snap it to one of the lines, then rotate it so it is perpendicular to the other line, and snap it to the other line (while holding shift to make sure it stays on the same axis). would be good if they introduced a less hacky version in the future as this is a pretty essential tool that just isn't in inkscape.

its odd that circles are distorted upon being divided though, not gonna lie.

It´s actually not because a circle needs way more nodes then just 4 to describe a "perfect" circle.

It may or not be an essential tool but it seems only to exist in one single app - guess why.

lol im a bit confused i dont know why it only exists in one single app
