I'm not sure if we can help you very much with MS Word.  Does it give you any error message?

How did you make this raster image in Inkscape?  I mean exactly how?

Do you mean that you have Inkscape open and you copy the raster image, and then go to paste directly into Word?  If that's the case, have you tried other ways - such as save the raster image on your computer and import into Word, or other ways?

Wait a minute....  How are you using MS Word on Mac computer?  Perhaps that's the root of the problem?

Which beta version do you have installed? Can you please paste the complete version number from Help > About into your next comment, chemvarun?

Similar Issue (Windows Machine). Pasting from Inkscape into Word no longer seems to work with Inkscape 1.0. Must be some change to the nature of what Inkscape puts on the clipboard.

If you wish to only copy bitmaps, I seem to have found a way to make it work: use "paste special" in Word and select the .png format.

At the time I upgraded to Inkscape 1.0, I was working on a project where I was relying on this workflow for vector graphics (Ctrl+C in Inkscape, Ctrl+V in Word), so I am currently running a parallel installation of 0.92.4 for the sole purpose of copying graphics into Word. In future projects I will probably have to use a more legitimate workflow such as saving the graphic to a .wmf file and then importing into Word. This produces sub-par results though (.wmf sucks).

I've been reading on the internet. It seems that copying in Inkscape puts .svg format data on the clipboard, and in general Ms Word (Except for some installations post 2016) does not support the .svg format. It would appear that the ability to copy and paste .svg from Inkscape into Word with older versions of Inkscape was really just a happy accident of some sort.

Since what has broken here was never really meant to work in the first place, I don't think it qualifies as a bug. Unfortunate, but this is Microsoft's fault, really, for failing to build .svg support.
