One thing that bothers me is that in Inkscape it's way too easy to trigger double click event. For example, I'd like to cycle through a few overlapping paths by holding Alt and click a few times. However, I have to mentally tell myself to slow down, otherwise Inkscape registers my clicks as double click and switches to Node Tool from Select Tool. It's quite annoying. Is there a preference that changes how long it has to be between two clicks for themΒ to not be registered as double-click?
(I know for this specific use case I can use Alt + mouse wheel, but what annoys me is how easy to accidentally trigger double-click in Inkscape in general.)
I had this issue a few years back as well. Drove me insane. I had to change my mouse settings in Windows. More of a systems issue than an Inkscape issue.

Hopefully that will work for you too.
