Today, I installed Inkscape on both my home and office computers; However, I ran into a problem: I can't edit the artwork I create. The functions appear to be blocked, without permission for use.
For example, I wrote "JOHNATA" and tried to convert the text into separate letters so I could edit them individually. When accessing the menu, I realized that I do not have permission to make the necessary edits.
I attach some images to make it easier to understand the problem.
Thank you in advance for your attention and I look forward to your help.
Hello! I apologize for my error. I was wrong about what appeared to be an error, but in fact it is not. I was following the wrong procedure to turn text into curves. After reading the Inkscape manual, I understood the correct procedure to perform this transformation. I will consider the topic closed. Thank you for your help and attention.

It seems "johnata" in your examples is already a path. Please observe the status bar at the bottom of the screen.
