I have recently installed Inkscape 0.92 on Mac OSX 10.14 Mojave via terminal as suggested on the Downloads page. The new install is working but it has created havoc with the settings. There are two main problems I am facing:
1. The menu and help language on the interface have become a mixture of English, Greek, and Devanagari. I had Greek and Devanagari keyboards added, the interface is almost unreadable. (It is Greek!) Only where translations are not available it reverts to English. So at times, a menu has all three languages in parts (see the attachment). I am working with shortcuts and menus mostly based on my memory.
2. Many of the fonts are missing. They were working fine with the earlier version, and are still accessible through other applications, GIMP and Krita for example, but are not shown in the Fonts menu in Inkscape. This has been a major problem.
Is there any fix to these two issues, or do I have to wait for the dmg to be released?
Did you have multiple Inkscape windows open at once? Changing the preferences in one will (or did, in that version) cause that for me, also: it had to be updated to the next version. Mmmh. Looks interesting... I'll let our Mac people know, maybe they know what's going on... Could you explain what you mean by 'via terminal', though?
MacPorts? Homebrew? Or the dmg for 0.92.2?
You can also try out https://inkscape.org/release/1.0alpha2/mac-os-x/ - it's a native dmg of the current alpha release for 1.0.
