Well, as I described in my earlier post that's now deleted, I explained that the "Undo History" has labeled the function that I am doing is toggling the item visibility, but toggling the item visibility actually also moves the layer slightly. That's what I'm trying to demonstrate in the video. I wonder what could be causing this issue.
I've able to really simplify the file down to three shapes and only one guideline and issues still exist.
Also, when you try to place it as a group along the guideline, it "hops" a little to the left of the guideline. It takes me multiple tries to get it to fall right atย the guideline when moving it as a group.
I hope this clears up any confusion, sorry about the delay with my reply.
Because you're on "Ventura Highway" it could be this is a side effect mentioned in this note from the download section:
Note for macOS users:
Do not update to macOS Ventura if you rely on Inkscape! There is an unresolved issue that currently affects all GTK3 based apps on macOS Ventura, making the app unresponsive to certain mouse events. (GTK is used by many different programs, and builds those programs' user interfaces for you to interact with.)
Oh well. Since having started this thread,ย I have gone to using the opacity of theย layer in questionย at 50% then clicking the visibility on and off, just in caseโฆ
I tried to post earlier, but my post was rejected. Sorry.
I hope this YouTube that I published will help me get some support for this issue.

Not possible to tell from the just video.
Another object may be behind the one being toggled. An example Inkscape SVG file may help.

I'm not able to reproduce here. Please attach an example Inkscape SVG file that has the issue.

Not reproduced in Inkscape 1.2.2 Linux Mint, using the supplied file.
Yikes!

But, many thanks.
