Inkscape 1.4.2 downloaded from the official page, installed via dmg on a MacBook Air with M2 Chip running MacOS Sequoia 15.6.1. I have some svg files with many layers and paths, and I would like to be able to save just some of the layers to separate SVG files (preferably Plain SVG). If I try to export a selected layer, the instant that I push the "save" button, Inkscape crashes every single time. This happens with any file that has multiple layers, for which I am trying to export a subset as its own svg file. I looked through the forums that relate to the topic of "export" and did not find this problem listed.
Sorry. I can't reproduce the problem (inkscape 1.4.2, macos 15.4, Intel). I never tried this before, but today I successfully exported a layered drawing as multiple plain svg files.
In my experience, crashes like this are often related to badly made fonts. Perhaps you can upload a (small) file that's causing problems.
