Beginners' Questions Importing Fonts From Windows 10

    New user to Inkscape.

Having trouble importing fonts from Windows 10 to the Inkscape font list. I was doing it initially but then all of the sudden the fonts stopped coming across. I get the font into the font file for windows but then it wont populate into inkscape. Had a tech look at it but they were not familiar with Inkscape so they backed out. They did tell me that windows seemed to be operating fine.

Any help would be appreciated. Have been fighting this for awhile with no luck.

    Thanks

Inkscape reads fonts residing in WIndows' font folder. First I'd check to see if the new fonts are there.

Inkscape also only uses fonts that conform to CSS naming and styling, so If you have a font that doesn't work, please share a copy of it for us to examine.

Yes the font, Palace, from dafont.com is in the Windows  folder along with all the other fonts but i still cannot get Inkscape to pick it up.

    Thanks

It seems to be working here. .92.2, Win 8.1, 64bit.

So Win 10 seems to be the obstacle. There is a lot of discussion here about "Install for all users" .So I'd uninstall the font and see if I can get the right-click menu to offer "Install for all users".

The fix for this issue #50 released in Inkscape 0.92.5, could also be added manually for earlier versions of Inkscape.

Would it be an option to download the latest version of Inkscape?

Nevermind Install for all users did the trick.

You all are awesome Thanks Alot.

I'm sure this questions sounds dumb!

But I have tried to find the 'install for all users' and I can't.

Can someone guide me how to do this? I have downloaded multiple fonts, yes they are in the font folder, but will not show in inkscape.

    Thank you!
