I am new to Inkscape and just installed it to try to convert a PDF plot from AutoCAD into an SVG. When I import the PDF into Inkscape I get odd jagged edges all around my polylines.
Here is part of the original PDF as viewed in Bluebeam:
And the same polyline after importing into Inkscape:
No matter what import settings I use I get this result. When I then export from Inkscape to SVG the jagged edges remain.
Any advice on how to fix this is greatly appreciated!
Can you share the same inkscape screenshot with this path selected with node tool and tell us wich settings are used for this stroke (fill and stroke panel, stroke style tab) ?
Thanks for the response, I used Ctrl+shift+f, stroke style tab, and set the join to rounded edges which does remove the jagged edges. The only issue is it appears I have to do this for each separate stroke and using ctrl+a t select all strokes greys out the join setting in the stroke style panel. Any suggestions?
I just spent a few hours troubleshooting and the segmented plotting appears to occur for polylines, but not splines. I converted my linework to splines and when plotted to PDF and then imported to Inkscape it appears correctly. I also swapped using a global width for the linework in AutoCAD to using a lineweight.

Is this segmented plotter the only option AutoCAD can export vectors? Please upload an example file if possible.

Worth noting that Inkscape can import DXF.
Ah good to know. I will definitely try that next time!
