Beginners' Questions Image prints with border around page - I don't want that border

Version 1.3.2, windows 11 home version 23H2 I am creating an image that fills the entire page (US letter) but when I print the page, there is a very small border around the entire page. I don't want that border, I want the images to fill the page. I have tried page to image or image to page, and it's not my printer because I can print full page full color images with no problem. I have attached a picture of the screen with the image to the edge of the page, and what it looks like when I print it.

I can't explain this from your images. Perhaps you can upload the offending svg file for interrogation.

Here is the file. It also happens on another file I am building, so it must be some global setting for new documents. If you can find the setting I need to change please let me know so I can change it for all existing documents and future documents.

Your svg file looks good, so it's not a drawing problem. You can print borderless images from other applications, so it's not a printer problem. I suspect this is another manifestation of Inkscape's printing problems.

Inkscape is a Linux-native application which is then ported to Windows and MacOS. One annoying consequence for non-linux users is unreliable printing. The customary workaround is [file > Save a Copy...] and select pdf as the file type. The output should print correctly from your favourite pdf viewer.

Enable Page-tool and check if any Margins are applied which might cause this.

Perhaps your installation of Inskcape has border enabled in the document settings?

If you look in the "File"menu and down near the bottom you click "Document Properties", you will get a dialog where you can set the desktop color to "ffffffff" to make the background non contrasting white, and also disable shadowing and border or set the border characteristics. If border is set, try unsetting it by clearing the tick box. Then it is all about your operating system. I am a linux user so if your problem is related to WinDOHs, I don't have any advice other than the obvious, and I don't want to preach on theย superiority of Linux or Unix over WinDOHs. Your OS choice is your own, and you are perfectly correct to use whatever OS you like, but do remember that because the program was written in and for Linux, your use of the ported to Windows version is essentially a kludge, and you should expect some occasional speed bumps.ย

Saving the file in Inkscape to pdf or svg or png should allow you to then print the saved file with the OS system print dialog or with some image reader or viewer or editor native to your OS, even if ultimately it proves impossible or impractical to print directly from Inkscape in a manner that satisfies you.

Thank you everyone. I did try to export to a PDF, at first I thought it was going to work. When I tried to print the PDF "Fit" was checked and it had the margins, I changed it to "Actual Size" and the preview did not show a margin, but both my color and B&W printer printed margins. I did look at "document properties" and no margins were there. I did try the Page Tool, no margins there as well.

It WAS the printer. I don't know why it would print full page images from the Web, but for some reason it turned OFF borderless printing when the Media Type was paper. When I changed the Media Type on my HP color printer to photo paper, then it would remove the border and it is now printing full page; I now just need to adjust my image for the page as the image is printing over the actual page size.

I appreciate everyone trying to help. I hope this helps someone else.
