hi! why is it again impossible to scale the view in the new version by simply scrolling the mouse wheel? Why is it so difficult to make a working button in the settings?

why did they return this antiquity? for the sake of the program's performance?

I have always used the Ctrl key with the mouse wheel... was there a way to have the wheel always scroll without Ctrl?

Wasn't sure thought there was. Nice feature use it in Gimp, FreeCad and KiCad. Doable found link:

Edit: Even though set Zoom to no still have to check enabled at top also for pan.

Just tried on Ubuntu 22.04 Inkscape 1.2 and works great. Another setting to enter in my Calc sheet on settings.

Note on procedure. Initially on OS upgrade and then Inkscape 1.2 installation my ungroup hotkey worked well (was intermittent in my earlier version). Was great to have Zoom without CTRL key. Then I noticed my hotkey Alt-G no longer worked. Playing with different settings found Superkey z and Superkey x worked fine. (now one hand enabled). Possibly other hotkeys may not work after change I think due to the complexity of the new hotkeys. Just something to check if you make change.

Thanks a lot!  Someone here told me that yes...we can make a little change to make zoom only with MW without Ctrl. Check the attachment up.
