Hi everyone, I'm using google translate, sorry. I am learning how to make games and for my idea I need a system that will automatically cut a large image into many parts and there will be no visible seams, joints or voids between the parts. I've attached an image to show the idea, but in this example we see empty space between the cells (I found a hex grid on Google and overlaid it on top of the image).
I am a zero level Inkscape user.
I was told that it is possible to smoothly cut an image in Inkscape, but in the tutorial I was given a tutorial on how to cut with a plugin and cut into puzzle cells, and I need hexagons.
Can anyone record a video where he quickly inserts a 1920-1080 image, makes a grid of hexagons, overlays the grid over the image, and cuts out the image?
I can pay if it's not too expensive. Learning on your own is very difficult and expensive, even in Photoshop
Polygonย Sorry, maybe I donโt understand the meaning of the words exactly, below is the option to go to what you need, but I see thin thin voids there, and I need them to be gone
Tyler Durdenย Yes, it looks like what I'm looking for, but I see thin lines between the cells, is it possible to cut the image so that there is no gap between the cells? Is it possible to set a 0 px line weight for a grid of hexagons?
OK here's how an image is converted to pattern and cut by Path>Division. After the division, the antialiasing lines are hidden by putting a 1px stroke on the pieces, the stroke using the same image as the fill.
Hey there. I'm trying to do pretty much this EXACT thing, but I really have absolutely zero idea what I am doing. I can;t even figure out how to draw this basic hex shape that you have labeled " Create by clever means to be cloned." I can see how this works, kinda.. and I managed to produce a Hexagon, but.. I have NO IDEA how to use these tools and get this result, or even what to search for to learn what I need.. Please help? Or maybe even someone could just cut my image into hexagons for me? I just need 19 hexagons ( arrayed into a larger hexagon ) cut out ofย a single extremely high res image. I actually DO need a small gap between each. The idea is to create a sort of false window effect. The Hexagon pattern will be the frame, and the images that fill each hexagon make the window panes. I need each of the 19 hexagons as a seperate image.ย
Sorry, I temporarily froze my project and I could not implement the task through the inscape program. I can only upload a video on how to do this task using Adobe Illustrator (for example, a pirated version). It will take you approximately 1-2 hours to find and install Adobe Illustrator (without malware, which is often built into pirated versions) and the steps themselves, which need to be repeated according to the video tutorial, it may take 2-3 hours (the process itself is not very difficult, but you can make a mistake and look for your mistake and start over, so not 30 minutes, but 2-3 hours, and maybe 5 hours if you have a different version of Adobe Illustrator, which means the location of the interface buttons may be different and you need think that you need to click in your program when you watched the action in the video lesson) ( I didnโt record the video training; one of the users recorded it for me a long time ago. )ย (I wrote through a translator)
Thanks for the replies! I was able to find a couple YouTube videos that got me making shapes, and then using them as cutters, and from there I had all I needed! Thanks!ย

Are you sure about "cutting" the image into pieces? Could be white strokes as a grid overlay.
Maybe this:

If this is helpful, please support the Inkscape project.

This is a zero width line. What is seen is antialiasing artifact with can be reduced by various methods.
The final application can help determine which method.
There is also a handy hex-map generator in the Mightyscape extension collection:ย https://gitea.fablabchemnitz.de/FabLab_Chemnitz/mightyscape-1.X

Sorry, but it's not out yet, could you record the gif from the beginning? I don't have a "cut" moment. Here is an image for convenience
The image in the gif above is cut into pieces by the Path>Division .

I'd start by stepping through the tutorials in Inkscape'sย Help menu. They are fast, easy and cover some essential concepts.
Then, chime back and we'll cover the methods above.
I'll be back in about 9hrs, but other skilled members might comment in the meantime.
