How do Iย make only parts of a vectorย image transparent. eg: In the below image i want to make all the off white parts transparent. The intended end result in this case would be a single colored image (which still has the definitions and not just a blob of black) with a red background only.
I hope everything is vector. In this case select all white shapes (select one and go ctrl-click->select same->color fill) and combine them (cmd+K) - the shift select the black shape as well and go Path->Difference - which should cut-out the white parts from the black one:
