I have two monitors. Whenever I open a dialog it appears on my secondary monitor. I drag it to my primary monitor, use it, close it, and open it again. Aaand it's back on my secondary monitor. Every time.
How do I make things 1) open on my primary monitor by default and 2) stay where I put them?
This might help. Open the Inkscape Preferences dialog [shift+ctrl+p] and go to [Interface > Windows]. Choose [Remember last window's geometry] and [Save and restore dialogs status].
Can´t test it by myself as a 32" display is all I use - but you can try after adjusting the settings like Paddy_CAD recommended go File->Save Template…->enable "Set as default template". Restart Inkscape. If this won´t help either I have no clue honestly what else could help.
