Is it possible to hide page label temporarily?

You can see what I mean in the picture below

Labels can be toggled on/off somewhere in Preferences.

    Hi Polygon,

the only thing I found was in

Preferences > Interface > Windows > Label behavior

but turning it off, didn't make the indicated page title disappear...

Can't check right now; could be it needs a restart of Inkscape?

I still believe that's a setting somewhere, will check and report when back@Mac.

    https://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Release_notes/1.2#Page_tool

    This page says:

"Labels are always visible, no matter which tool is currently selected."

I know that the name of the label can be changed / deleted, but I would like to be able to hide the page label and not to delete it... it bothers me and distracts me when I'm designing...

As I said I'll check later. I don't have labels in my multiple page documents.

You have to dig into the XML code and find something likeΒ "<inkscape:page id="page 1792" inkscape:label="About Screen">Β

Yes, I definitely can't temporarily disable (toggle) page name...

I will have to delete the label:

Toolbox > Create and edit document pages

    Toolbox menu > Page label
