Hi, I would like to print some postcards from some images and I would like to add a white border (8 mm) around the images and add cut marks (those small black lines outside of the image). And I'd like to print two cards per paper.
I think I can achieve this by
1) Adjusting the ascpect ratio of the images with some other tool like imagemagick
2) Import the image (with link so it is easy to change image) and scale it to a certain size
3) Add 4 rectangles, one each per corner of the image, and the rectangles sides will be the cut marks. The position of the rectangles will be adjusted to the size of the image and the size of the border.
If the postcards will always be the same size, you can set up a 2-up template that has guidelines for image placement and the cut marks in place. Then, just open the template, drop in the images and scale crop etc. Save a copy as PDF for printing.
You can even have a clipped group that will automatically crop to the postcard size.

Are there better ways to do this?
I might try using the printing marks extension: Extensions>Document>Layout>Printing Marks
