I am currently creating a map in which I will require multiple line styles. I have created these lines using the Bezeir curve tool. I would like to create symbols (e.g isosceles triangle) that repeat along the side of the line every set distance (e.g 3 mm) and lie parallel to the line at that point.Β Attached is an example in QGIS from which I have created different line styles with the parameters I am chasing.Β Β
I've been trying to fiddle with the line Stroke Style settings but can only seem to chose from pre-set shapes which sit on every line node. I can only find a fixed rotation tool for the shapes but this rotates every triangle at the same angle and not (necessarily) parallel to the line.
Is there a way I can create my own style types with repeating shapes at set distances parallel to the line?Β
I am running Inkscape 1.2.2
I greatly appreciate any help, and please feel free to direct me to any other posts if a similar question has been asked in the past.
[Path > Path Effects...] opens the path effects dialog. Select your curve then in the dialog dropdown, choose [Pattern Along Path]. Here's a sample.
Different node types change how the pattern is rendered. I suggest experimenting.
Also, I think I found a bug here. On my system, the pattern vanishes and reappears as I adjust the width. It seems to occur at regular width intervals. I need to investigate some more.
