    Hello guys,Β

I am having huge trouble finding a way to add a black outline to a grayscalled SVG file.

My use case is that I am using Inkscape to create files, that I laser engrave on glass, and I need the files to be grayscaled to only like 60-80% black, so the engravement is consistent, however, in order to achieve sharp edge on the engravement - I need to add black outline, so the laser can make a high-quality outline and fill in the text.

For now I have used the "Filters" -> "Color" -> "Greyscale" -> playing with the "Lightness" feature, usually setting it up to 0.20-0.40.

However, when I want to add a black outline I am not able to, because the whole file is greyscalled, including the outline itself, even though it is 0, 0, 0 RGB, if I remove the greyscale it is black, but then the whole image becomes black.Β

I have added a YouTube video showing what I want to achieve (the last photo, in which the outline is added, at around 1:36-1:42)

Any information would be helpful - thank you!

Why don't you just use the Fill and Stroke panel toΒ adjust colours?
