Hello, I traced a bitmap and it created a shape with some unnecessary nodes. While I was erasing them some curve lines became straight and now I can't get the 2nd handles of their nodes.

I searched high and low but google keeps distorting my request and I get tons of answers about bending lines or making corners round.

While I need to curve some straight PARTS in a SHAPE.

Thank you if you can help
    I am on Windows 7 with IS version 1.0.2-2 (e86c870879, 2021-01-15)

Select your shape. Go get the Node tool [n] then [click+drag] the straight line segments to change the curvature.

Optional step. [click] the segment to select the two adjacent nodes then in the tool bar [Make selected nodes smooth].

Additional hint: Try updating to a current Inkscape version, and also, if necessary, override Inkscape's default node deletion behavior which in current versions changes with the angle of the nodes.
