I have an image I received that I will be cutting out on my laser. Its a Hebrew letter character that will be used as a stencil. I received the image as a pdf and brought it into Inkscape. I used the Trace Bitmap tool then the object to path tool. As of now this will cut out perfectly on the laser but the way the letter is, it's center white area will be cut out and loose and the stencil wouldn't be able to be used. How can I create/draw a line that goes from side to side of the white center area that will keep it in place. similar to the letter O in a stencil pack. Any help is appreciated.
I don't do laser cutting, having said that, my suggestion would be to use the bezier tool and trace the inside of the character. Then combine or union the two objects. That would have the effect of being one complete object. That's just one option to try. Someone else may have a better way.
You can draw on the image in Inkscape before you trace it. In other words draw white rectangles where you want the ‘struts’ to support the ‘island’ area.
