Hi. I have an .svg file, that i need to open in CorelDraw. I tried saving the .svg file as .pdf (the .pdf is perfect), but when I open the .pdf in any other program it has things missing or changed. How can I export the drawing best?
Not all programs support all the SVG features which Inkscape offers. I know for sure that nothing except Inkscape will support a gradient mesh. So if you used that to fill anything, that's probably the answer for those. Also flowed text will not show up anywhere except Inkscape.
Have you identified which parts are missing, I mean, what kind of SVG elements they are? For example, are they clones or symbols or rectangles or text, or whatever. With a little research, you could figure out for yourself if it's always the same kind of element that isn't supported.
Or if it's something else that might be happening. For example, if all the contents are not inside the page border, they might not show up.
What version of Inkscape did you use? If you're using 1.0beta, we should probably have a look at the file, to make sure there are no new bugs that need to be fixed before 1.0 is released as stable.
Or if it's another version, we could look at the file as well. Although I'm not sure if we could tell you more than you already know. But maybe. We're certainly happy to have a look!
Please send a sample of the SVG file, there is probably a filter or other effect causing the rasterization. Lines in a PDF should resolve to .001" or better.

Have you tried opening the svg file in Corel? What happens?
I tried. It has a lot of parts missing
Even worse than opening the exported .pdf version of it

Can you share the file? You can direct-message me if you want to send it via email. I have Corel at my office and can test it there.
Sent you my email via PM.
hello guys
i have the also an export problm from SVG to PDF:
the SVG file contains vecotriel graphics like text and logos, they all look fine.
but details like dot codes (Datamatrix, QR-codes) they look like a one simple square wiht a gradient inside.
i specified the the resolution for export in PNG to try it at 400ppi (highest resolution of the dot codes I need).
the PNG file always looks full black. nothing inside ... i problme miss some basic selection, sorry for my amateurism.
but i would appreciate your help

Hi I have the same problem with two files in svg, I tried to export as pdf but it doesnt work
@GStur , I would check the page size and orientation.
I check but it looks like this in pdf
Maybe you want more like this:
The page needs to be set in the Document Properties, then the artwork can be exported to "Document size".
Still not working...
thanks for your help anyway
Set the page area?
In the example files you provided, the page is much larger than the artwork.
What part do want to keep in the pdf and what is not working? Be specific.
