From what I read your SVG has its origin at Illustrator. You can try to open the SVG in a Text-editior go to line 4, column 37 and delete that section - save under different file name and try to open again. To be honest I donΒ΄t have good hope that it will work but lead to just a next error. Do you still have access to AI?
I would remove the conditional grouping on the orangutan and tiger (ungroup once on each), then copy and paste everything into a new Inkscsape document.
Hi, I made a file with various SVG's and saved it as an SVG.
When I try to open it I get this error:-Β
error on line 4 at column 37: xmlns:i: Β '&ns_ai;" Β is not a valid URI
What does this mean and how can I retrieve my artwork?

Please share the file, so we can better help.
Hi, I deleted that file I originally posted about but here is another file which has an error that you can work on.
Ai svgs are known to behave badly in Inkscape.
