Whenever an envelope deformation path effect is added to a path, the path itself is moved to the left and slightly up (that's the -X and -Y directions, respectively). The actual nodes of the path stay where they are, of course, but that means that the envelope deformation does not produce the effect that I'd want it to. The screenshots replicate my attempts to arch some text (which has been converted to path). The displacement is much worse the further zoomed in you are, which makes me think it might be some sort of rounding error? I am able to sidestep the issue by enlarging the path I want to deform, enough that the displacement doesn't produce a visible effect, but that is quite annoying. Is there some setting I've overlooked or anything I can do to fix this?
Thanks, I've submitted a bug report. After a little more testing, I found that paths that were further away from the origin/canvas were more heavily affected - you may or may not be able to replicate it on your end by moving a path several thousand units away from where it might normally be.
Hi all, been running into a persistent issue with Envelope Deformation that has really been a roadblock for me. (This is Mac version 1.0)

I can't replicate the issue here on Linux.
Please file a bug report.

Thanks.

That made a difference. Not looking as I would expect.
