I am an Indie mobile game developer from India. I use Inkscape for my graphic designing. Thanks Inkscape team for providing the application for those who (like me) cannot afford expensive applications like Adobe Illustrator. Now as my games have started earning revenue, I would like to support Inkscape by donation. When I use PayPal to donate, selected Debit or Credit card as option and then selected country as India, it says that - Donations to this recipient aren't supported in this country. Can someone please let me know how I can donate to Inkscape from India. I really want to support your efforts guys. Without Inkscape, I would have not able to design graphics for my games. Thanks.
There isn't a way to accept donations from asia at the moment. This is a limitation of the Software Freedom Conservancy. They are working on trying to fix it.
But there are other ways you can help. Firstly you could invest locally, perhaps there is a school or community center that uses Inkscape and you can help them with their hardware, or teachers. This is probably the best if you're interested in charity as the Inkscape project's charity fund has enough money to continue it's activities.
On the other hand if you are interested in investing in the programmers, you can sign up to sponsor some of the programmers of Inkscape outside of the charity. This is direct funding for creating code. I'm currently raising money for my CMYK project for example via Patreon and LibrePay. And I would welcome support; but be aware this is not charity funding.
