For a project I am working on a tartan pattern, which needs a twill weave effect. For this I have create a bunch of lines, converted to paths, united these and want to substract those from the tartan weave.
I understood that paths cannot be grouped for that, and they are not.
When I do path > Difference or Division I don't get the result I want.
Attached is the file I am working in. Who could give directions on how to solve?
(All oobjects and paths created in Inkscape, nothing imported. Inkscape 1.3.2, working on Windows 10)
For some reason your file is not available, but from what I understand you can try: Convert the lines with Path->Path-to-stroke then Path->Path-Union - this shape should be working in Boolean Operations.

Let me check whatβs wrong with the file once Iβm at my laptop.
I did indeed join the lines at paths.
when I do the same with the tartan blocks, they all get mashed into one grey block
I reuploaded the file. Hope it works now.
Thanks for checking!
After some more browsing, I found that there is a multi boolean extension that is downloadable in Inkscape itself.
That worked like a charm!
PlaidMaker looks like a nice tool.

Hi!
thanks for the tips. In the meantime a managed to create the artwork I needed with that multi Boolean extension I mentioned.
tje plaidmaker is a great tool for any future work however!
