How do I go about taking an object, say an eclipse that looks like a football and divide it in half so that both halves are treated as separate objects?
Draw a line that divide it in two parts, then Path/Divide (note: the new-created objects are now paths, not ellipses)
Just a small nitpick: The Path Boolean operation is called "Division". ;-)
