I'm not sure really what do call this, I am sure I need to use one of the path options (exclusion etc) but I'm not sure which one! I have downloaded a font called Swingman and I would like to recreate the effect in the reference photo, where the g "cuts through" the swish underneath:
I can't figure out which tool I should be using for this. Colours on mine are just so I can see what I'm doing:
