Is it possible to use Inkscape to split up a single image (a photo of my grandson) into multiple body part so that I can animate each body part in another application? Any help would be much appreciated 🤞
In general yes - but I guess it´s easier in a bitmap editor like GIMP because you need to repair what´s cut-off to a certain degree - and that´s something Inkscape is not made for. The result either way would be like PNG images with an alpha channel.
BTW: there´s a Inkscape1.2 version (arm64) that runs natively on an M1 Mac.
No - they have an interesting feature set and got their newsletter, but well I´m having a little background in cell animation in the 80ties - but never transitioned into the digital world of it for 2d animation - tried Pencil2D and others - 3d is more my playground since 2005.
I've been looking at 3D and decided creating models is not my area of expertise. When I need a model, which is not very often at the moment, I usually go to fiver.com
Hello one & all 👋

PS: I'm using a MacBook Air 2020 M1

Thank you Polygon, much appreciated 😀
I'll check out GIMP and Inkscape 1.2 👍
May I ask in which app you´re going to do the animation?
Cartoon Animator 4. Do you use it?
