Have been using inkscape for over 7 months now with my GlowForge and I love it. Was very simple to learn and you can do a lot of things with it.
But suddenly within the last week it keeps crashing over and over and over . I have the latest version, using the same laptop - nothing has changed.
I am just doing simple stuff .. like changing fonts, drawing a circle, basically anything . it crashes completely, no error message .. just closes program completely.
I can go to files and see it saved the file -- I can open it up and continue but then it will crash again.
I have completely uninstalled the program and then downloaded and installed again .. still does same thing. Any ideas?
If the issue has begun only recently, updates to the OS or other programs running at the same time (e.g.browsers) may be conflicting with Inkscape's operation.
Inkscape has been very stable for 99% of its users through the .92.x versions. Not perfect, but very stable. It's a reasonable option for many users.
Version 1.1 has great new features, but many Glowforge users have been using the .92.xx versions for years.

Try Preferences->Reset Preferences.
Tried that ...still crashes ... completely close program
I've been noticing more crashes lately too. Not sure what is common between them.
