Is there a quick way to see a count of how many nodes there are in a path? I want to experiment with using the Simplify command to solve a problem I have where some curves are getting cut too intensely on a laser cutter. But I'd like to be able to keep track easily of the difference that repeatedly running the Simplify command makes to the number of nodes. Sorry if I've missed something obvious!
Ah I see, I choose the path with the Node tool, then switch to the Select tool to make the information appear in the status bar at the bottom. Thank-you both for your help with this, I get it now! Also thanks for such quick responses

Select Path with node tool and check Satus Bar at the bottom of the Inkscape window.
I can't see that. I'm using Inkscape 1.1 on Windows. Here's a screenshot with a path selected with the Node tool
Ok - draw select around the nodes - does this work?
I'd use the select tool, and view the status bar.
