Hi, I'm trying to convert PDF to SVG. I found this tool called PDF2SVG (http://www.cityinthesky.co.uk/opensource/pdf2svg/) which after getting it to work on Windows, it did produce the SVG. The issue is that it took a 26kB PDF file and converted to a 1852kB SVG. Then I tried Inkscape and to my surprise the file size was lower at 474kB. I think it's because PDF2SVG turns text into paths, wheres Inkscape keeps the text (I was able to select text and copy it within the SVG).
MY QUESTION: IF I HAVE A CUSTOM FONT THAT I'VE DOWNLOADED AND OTHERS DON'T HAVE ON THEIR COMPUTER, WILL THE FONT BE CARRIED THROUGH? I know that with PDFs, you can "embed" fonts into the PDF and the file carries the unique font with it, so no need to have others install it.

Inkscape does not natively embed fonts. IIRC, it is possible with other tools.
OK thanks for confirming then.
