1. There's a button on the toolbar that says 'Move gradients (in fill or stroke) along with the objects. Make sure this is turned ON.
2. With the text tool selected, look at the text toolbar that shows. At the right hand side is are a few buttons which dictate the text direction. You should probably just need to click the first one (says Block Progression, when you hover over it) and make sure horizontal is selected.
I've attached a screenshot showing what the buttons look like.
If you go into menu Edit / Preferences, then click on Text in the 'Tools' section. Down near the bottom is a section titled 'Style of new objects'. Make sure 'Last used style' is selected. This will 'carry forward' whatever text style you've used previously, so if your text is vertical, it should remain vertical (this will also carry forward font selected, size and colour).
There is a way to set the default font & font size (via menu Text / Text and Font...) but in my quick experiment, this didn't seem to remember text direction, so the 'Last used style' option might be better.
Hi,
I've had 2 problems for few days. Could you help me ?
1. When I move the object, the color gradient stay to the same place ...
2. When I create a text area, the text is oriented vertically with a border. How do I change my settings?
Thanks.

1. Thanks a lot, I didn't know this button
2. I saw these buttons which dictate the text direction but there is no means of setting the default value of the direction ?
Thank you very much for the minutes you have allowed me.
