I'm always having this problem with inkscape. I draw a path around a complicated object with multiple Bezier curves, then i group them and apply a Object-->Clip-->Set over the image i'm clipping. But i'm left with a clipped image which has triangles clipped out of the interior of the image. I know this is a problem with the path not being joined but i've tried Object-->Group, Path-->Combine, Path-->Union and all variants seem to have the same outcome. The path seem well joined. when i scroll over it with the "Edit paths by nodes" the whole path flashes red. But still i have this clipping problem. If draw the path in one go I can avoid this problem but if i'm drawing curved paths i find i need to zoom in and drag the nodes while holding the CTRL key, then right click to finish the path, then continue the path at the same point. It's pretty infuriating as this is a task done so simply with the magic wand in adobe but i know that's not possible with inkscape.
Is there a way to solve this problem, how can i draw/join multiple paths for clipping?
That's a huge bummer. I wonder if you can tell me how to draw continuously from Bezier curves into straight curves? I.e. i use Bezier curve tool and click and drag while holding CTRL, then i want the next part of of the path to be a straight line, is there a button i can click to make it stop being curved?

You need a continuous path as a Clipping path not a group of separate fractions.
Thanks a lot. I was also facing the same problem and looking for a solution. Again Thanks
Thanks,

Holding shift key down to establish a corner. ctrl will just maintain angle snapping and straight lines.
