Beginners' Questions Changing the color of my logo

I created a logo and it is currently red. I want to make several copies of the logo in different colors but I can't seem to get the logo to change color properly. When I select the logo and then select a color, the blank space is filled with the color while the outer parts stay red. When I remove the fill option I am left with just an outline of all of the shapes. How can I change the color of my logo?

Because your logo is made from stroke and color filled shapes with or without strokes - you can´t change it in one go unless it´s a single combined path. You´ll need to select one by one part look at the colors (window bottom left) to get the info you need and change either stroke or fill or both accordingly.

No need to convert objects if the HSL extension is used:

(Text & star are fills, circles are strokes.)

That was really helpful, thank you!

Okay I tried using the HSL adjust but it does not do anything to the color

    Did you maybe make clones?

Feel free to share an example SVG file.

Here is the file I am working with. I have duplicated the logo a few times to have different version to work on if that is what you mean by making clones

Working here. You have live preview checked? Might take a moment to update (I have a reasonably fast computer).

Yes, I have it checked. Moving any of the three options (hue, saturation, lightness) does nothing to the image

OK, looks like v1.0 might not work on the group. That's like a bug.  I would try entering the group to select all objects and try the extension. That works here in v1.0.

    Easy way for me is:

    Lock master group

Select one object from the duplicate group and go select same (as indicated by Status bar) - change color

Select one of the the left shapes - select same (as indicated by Status bar) . change color-

It´s just a two step process.
