Sorry, I wouldn't call that good or correct. Text is not wrapped but overlapping. Some text is waaaay up off the page, etc. However it looks considerably better than what I found on my import. I'll attach a Zamzar conversion in PDF that looks pretty much correct.
BTW, this is 0.92.4 on Win 7 if that makes any difference.
Actually, that SVG file is a mess... not blank, but a total mess.

There is no way to fix it in Inkscape. If you have only a few ofย these, I can convert them to SVG for you at my office. If you have a lot of them, we can work out something.
Thanks for the offer. This is 20 year old material that I was trying to get a visual of to use as an example for future work. With 3 different browsers and a two file a day limit I was finally able to get Zamzar to convert what I needed for now.
So why is Inkscape CDR import so BAD? Does it work properly with ANY CDR files? I would be tempted to remove it from the import options if it doesn't work any better than this.
Hello,
I discovered Inkscape while looking for a way to open some old Corel DraW files. It looks like a GREAT program once I have the time to figure it out!
I have looked at the header in the file and it appears to be Corel Draw 7 format.
Right now I have imported the file into Inkscape and NOTHING shows up as visible! On the bottom it saysย "Group of 4 objects on Layer 1"
So either the import is not working or there is a likely user error as I am brand new to Inkscape.
I'll attach one of the files so you can try it out and see if you have better luck than I have.
You need to give more info (Inkscape version, which package you downloaded, OS and version, etc.).
In principle it seems to import fine (tested in Inkscape 0.92.x and latest master on Windows 10), see Attachement.

PS: The PDF opens in Inkscape just fine.

Thanks,

Other Corel files have worked reasonably well... maybe it's the version.ย ::shrug::
