I am a beginner Inkscape user--I use Photoshop and ClipStudio regularly, but I am learning Inkscape so I can make SVGs as well as embroidery files with InkStitch. I am on Mac OS 10.14.6. I am using Inkscape 1.1 (c4e8f9e, 2021-05-24), which I just updated today, 9-6-21, by uninstalling and reinstalling it.
I have an SVG file that I created in my previous version of Inkscape (I don't remember which version) with bitmap tracing. Now I would like to create an outline instead of a fill, but "Width" and "Dashes" under "Stroke Style" are greyed out. When I work with a pre-made shape, such as a square, "Stroke Style" works just fine. Do you know what is causing this? I have looked through the tutorials and the forum but didn't see anything that addressed this issue--if you know of a page that would help, please let me know!
I have attached the file that I am using, as well as a screenshot of the issue.

You´re in the Stroke style tab and Stroke is unset. Go to Stroke paint and choose "Flat color" - stroke width is in Stroke style. Makes sense?
Thank you!!
