Hey yall! So this is what im trying to do: Add in a line into the black shape for cutting purposes of one of my projects.

I used the tool: Draw brazier curves and straight lines > Mode: Create BSpline path > Shape: None.
I am trying to create a line in this square piece to then erase it along with the black part that it is on. Essentially, separating the square into 2 pieces. However, whenever i exclude/difference, etc. this is what happens

The start and end nodes seem to connect and cut out a shape when i just want it to cut out the line i drew.

    SOS.

I saw on the chat you have made some progress.

Path Division should be fine, particularly if you want the cut parts to mate with just the width of the laser kerf. If you're doing a lot of these cuts, one of the splines can be removed so the laser only cuts once.

If you want a slot, i.e. a gap between the pieces, stroke to path before Difference is how I would proceed.
