Is it possible to add a perspective effect to an imported image? I have a rectangular shaped png image that I want to "tilt" away from the viewer so it looks like it's angled with a faux-3D effect. Is this sort of thing possible and if so how? Thanks! :)
Tilting/Shearing&rotating is easy (2). Real perspective distortion needs a vector drawing (traced bitmap as groups will work also:( 3) or a raster graphics editor like GIMP.

@therobster I don't know if you are still interested in achieving this within Inkscape?
While Inkscape doesn't do perspective transforms on raster images natively, there is an extension which I use for this:
