Hi - I am new to Inkscape but have created a number of SVG files - I can't preview them in Windows File Explorer. and there are no thumbnails. I have installed Power Toys and can view all other svgs that were created in other programs, or downloaded. Can you assist with this problem? Thanks
Here are 2 examples - first is created in Inkscape and saved as inkscape.svg. 2nd is an imported svg - not sure what programme it was created in, think it might have been Illustrator. Thanks very much!
Hi! I have attached the svg file for the first capture, and following your advice, downloaded Inkscape1.0.1 and saved the second as a plain svg - perfect! Thank you so much as I have a lot of svgs.....it's a bit of a pain to have to open them all up one by one. I would also like to say how impressed I am with your responses - I have never been on a forum that not only gave me a solution, but in record time!

Please share an Inkscape SVG file that will not preview in windows.

Please share an Inkscape SVG. The screenshots are useful, but the svg will be more helpful.
I have noticed compatibility with Power Toys Preview handler has been broken for a while now. Save as Optimised SVG still works.
Workaround, use Inkscape version 1.0.1.
Silverfoot20, make sure SVG is enabled for both Preview Pane (preview) and Icon Preview (thumbnails) in Power Toys settings.
This shell extension may work, I haven't tried it myself. https://github.com/EtheaDev/SVGShellExtensions
Caveat Emptor/YMMV
I don't use Power Toys but I've used this little gem for many years. https://github.com/tibold/svg-explorer-extension
