I recently got a new computer (running Windows 11 Home), and am running Office Professional Plus, 2016. On my previous computer (Windows 11 something, probably enterprise), I could simply select objects in Inkscape, copy, and paste into Powerpoint as vector images. On the new computer, they paste as bitmaps with white backgrounds. I tried reverting to an earlier version of Inskcape, but this happens in 1.3 and 0.92.

So far, the only option I've found is to save my svg as an emf and them import to Powerpoint. Does anyone have suggestions of a better workflow for this?

I could also get my IT office to convert my computer from Windows 11 Home to Windows 11 with some enterprise edition if this would allow me to paste svgs, but would prefer to avoid this if it is not sure to work.

Thanks for your help and suggestions!

Hello Leila, you have probably solved your problem long ago. I'll answer anyway. Who knows. ...

I tried it on 2 PCs. Once with Windows 11 Pro, a simple MS Office 2021 and Inkscape 1.3. On the other hand, with Windows 10 Home, a simple MS Office 2021 and Inkscape 1.2. Both times the Pace&Copy function from Inkscape shapes and paths to Powerpoint works very well. Interestingly, shapes such as the spiral, the rectangle or the circle are even automatically converted into paths when inserted into PowerPoint. You can see this if you save the Powerpoint file as an SVG as a test and then check it again in Inkscape. So your problem is definitely not with Inkscape. Since Windows 10 Home works, I should be surprised if your Windows 11 Home has problems with this. As I said, working with Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V works quite easily for me. But take a look, what does your PowerPoint offer as insert options? If I use the "normal paste" option in the paste options, everything is fine. "Insert as graphic" results in pixel graphics. Try this out once. Maybe you have different Office settings than I do. I couldn't find it quickly.

Hopefully I made myself understandable. Many greetings from Germany.
