I'm working on a simple project. My client sends me variable greeting messages in a .csv file. I want to import them into Inkscape and have the AxiDraw,https://www.robotshop.com/en/axidraw-se-a3-personal-writing-drawing-robot.html, print the messages for me. There are about a total of 7,000 messages. Or should I be looking at different software to accomplish this?
That's an interesting robot. I've not been able to locate any reference to the controller of the device. If it's Arduino-based (GRBL), your options are increased a good bit. LightBurn laser software can control GRBL devices and may work with the robot. You can download a 30 day free trial and often the developer will provide extension on the trial period when requested.
Why switch software? LightBurn supports variable text with import source as CSV file. No programming required.
Some of the text I read regarding the robot is that it supports CLI programming, but that would be well beyond my capability. I'd bet that some Python wizard could pop out a program to do the job, but if the robot runs GRBL, LightBurn is going to be the easiest method.
