    Hi,

    I'm using V 0.92.

I have a problem with the Path Offset Menu that I want to apply to a single word. The rendering is too wide and distorted and I don't know how to adjust this tool. Perhaps a problem of scale?

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you in advance.

    Regards,

    Danielle

hi.  Have you tried to use the option below Outset - it's called dynamic offset and you can control how large or small you want it.  I 'think' you can also control how large the outset is in Edit>Preferences, but can't figure out which option, but hopefully someone with more knowledge will reply soon, just thought you could try the dynaic offset and see if that works for you. Another option would be to add a larger stroke around the word - I sometimes like the outcome better because it's less distorted.

Hi. Yes, I work since my message with dynamic offset. I also manage to change the value in Preferences and the radius in the xml. But nothing to do for the Offset alone.

I really do not understand why there is such a distorsion with.

I will wait for an expert's opinion as you suggest and I really thank you for your help.

    Have a nice evening.

The distortion is a known issue. Looks like you have found a usable workaround with the dynamical offset, though. Another option would be to just add a stroke (if you don't care about the actual path, but just about how it looks). The offset step width can be set in Edit > Preferences > Behavior > Steps: Inset/Outset by .

    Hi Maren,

Thanks a lot for you help.

Add a stroke is a good idea; I'll try it!

For my project I finally use dynamical offset.

    Have a nice day.
